What feed are your hens given?
Our hens are fed a premium Layer Crumble, formulated to support their health and wellbeing while producing nutritious, great-tasting eggs. Alongside this, they naturally forage for grass, bugs, and worms while out on our pastures.
Are your eggs hormone and antibiotic free?
Yes. Our eggs are hormone and antibiotic free.
If a hen becomes unwell or injured, we treat her only when necessary, always prioritising her welfare. Any medicated hens are cared for separately, and there is no egg withholding period, meaning the eggs remain safe and unaffected.
Unwell or injured hens are assessed and, if needed, moved to our nursery cages, where they’re treated and monitored daily until they’re well enough to return to their friends.
What’s the difference between pasture-raised and free-range eggs?
Both free-range and pasture-raised describe how hens are raised, but there are some differences:
Free-range hens have outdoor access but typically return to the shed for feed and to lay their eggs.
Pasture-raised hens spend more time roaming in open areas with less controlled systems, feeding from self-feeding stations and foraging naturally.
In both systems, hens enjoy a varied diet including grass, bugs, and worms.
Our hens are locked away safely overnight to protect them from predators and harsh weather, then let out each morning to roam freely during the day.
